  1. India’s aviation security regulator, the Bureau of Civil Security (BCAS), under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, inaugurated ‘Aviation Security Culture Week’ at its headquarters in New Delhi from 31 July to 5 August, 2023, for the first time in India. The theme of ‘Aviation Security Culture Week’ is “See it, Say it, Secure it”.  
  2. The Maharashtra Government will confer Tata group Chairman Ratan Tata with the first prestigious Maharashtra Udyog Ratna Award 2023.
  3. India’s largest private lender, HDFC Bank achieved a significant milestone by overtaking State Bank of India (SBI) to earn top spot on the list of 2023 CRISIL’s Greenwich market share Leaders in Large Corporate Banking.
  4. On 30 July 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the launch of ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign in run-up to Independence Day to honor the martyred bravehearts of the country.

  11. Poland’s tennis sensation Iga Swiatek achieved a significant achievement by securing her fourth WTA title of 2023 with a blistering 6-0, 6-1 victory over Germany’s Laura Siegemund at the Warsaw Open and her very first on home soil.
  12. SpaceX, Elon Musk’s space exploration company, launched the world’s largest commercial communications satellite named ‘Jupiter 3’ from LC-39A, Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA.
  13. On 27 July, 2023, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) announced the establishment of the Corporate Debt Market Development Fund (CDMDF) which is designed to function as a ‘backstop facility’, providing support during stressed market conditions by purchasing investment-grade corporate debt securities.
  14. Scientists from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Japan’s Niigata University have made a groundbreaking discovery by finding water droplets in rocks from the Himalayas which are believed to be from an ancient ocean that existed around 600 million years ago.
  15. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 27 July 2023, inaugurated Gujarat’s first Greenfield Airport at Hirasar near Rajkot.
  16. Former Kerala Assembly Speaker and senior Congress leader Vakkom Purushothaman passed away at the age of 96.
